The rain had stopped when I stepped out of Gems home, replaced by a grey early morning drizzle. I was late leaving because I couldn’t find my damn wig. And it was my favourite of many. I would have to replace it, which sucked. But hey at least I had left Truth something to remember me by. And I was leaving with all of my underwear.

That was a win, in my opinion.

And I could check off having sex with a bad boy from my list. This weekend had started off badly, but it had worked out ok in the end. Better than ok. Truth had rocked my world literally. I felt off-kilter, almost like I was drunk.

Shouldering my bag, I began to walk, my head down against the drizzle. It wasn’t far to the bus stop, and I didn’t know any numbers for cabs, so I was stuck walking. I didn’t mind, though, it gave me a chance to clear my head.

I had to forget Truth. There was no room in my neat boring life for a man likeTruth. I wouldn’t be seeing him again.

A sigh escaped my lips. It was strange how much he occupied my thoughts after a few short days. That was what great sex did to my brain, I guess.

My feet slowed as the bus station came into view. It was early, and the place was almost empty. Somehow that made it worse. If there had been people around, I wouldn’t have time to think.

Thinking was bad. Because all I could think of was Truth and Gem saying I could stay.

I couldn’t though, could I?

Sighing again I plonked myself down on the nearest bench. Grimacing as the wet seat instantly soaked my jeans. But I didn’t move. A wet ass was the least of my concerns.

A low rumbling echoed in my ears, but I didn’t look up. I stared at my boots. So deep in thought, I didn’t even notice someone had stepped up to me until a dark shadow stood over me.

I looked up in surprise. My mouth falling open as Truth stared down at me.

He looked tired, his under eyes looked almost bruised. “Truth?”

“Stay Cali.” He said it softly. “Stay with me.”

“I….” He didn’t let me finish. Tugging on my hands, he drew me up and into his arms. For a second, I let myself melt against him. Breathing in the smell of leather and smoke. And under it the scent that was pure him. Cinnamon and pure man. “Hear me out, Cali.” His hands were warm against my cold cheeks. “ I like you, and I want to get to know you. And I think you do too?.” His eyes searched my face.

“Truth, you don’t know me.”

“Exactly but I want to, and I’ve never wanted to get to know a woman before. I can’t get enough of you Cali.” He shook his head. “ I can’t get you out of my damn mind. Maybe I am over stepping, but I get the impression you feel the same.
